Who is Sleep Coach Jenn?
I am a Certified Pediatric Sleep Coach and a Clinical Social Worker, but before that I am a wife and mother to two little boys. As a mother, I have been in your shoes with a baby who did not sleep well. My first son was born at 34 weeks and spent his first 9 days in the NICU. When we brought him home, he was on a pretty good schedule and we tried to hang on to it as best we could. Quickly, things changed. He began to fight us on naps and would only nap in our arms. I am talking being “nap trapped” for hours each day. It was NOT sustainable, so I decided to start doing research to figure out how to solve this problem. I read all the books, scoured the internet for answers, tried all the things, and still could not get him to nap in his crib. I felt like a failure! When his poor daytime sleep began to disrupt his nighttime sleep and even holding him for naps started to fail (cue two hour drives to get a nap in), we knew we needed professional help. By fate, my mother-in-law had met a sleep consultant (I didn’t even know such a thing existed at that time) and the rest is history. Hiring her and working one- on-one was the best parenting decision we ever made. Within two weeks, our son was sleeping through the night, taking two solid naps per day, and doing it all independently! We were amazed, thankful, and so excited to have time together in the evening and time during the day to do other things than hold a baby or drive around town for hours! Fast forward a few years, and I decided to turn my love for pediatric sleep into another way of helping others. Having been a Clinical Social Worker for 14 years, I have a strong passion for helping children and families and Sleep Coaching has given me a truly life changing way to do that.
